Default A bit of bragging and thanks(first 2 competitions content)

So first the bit of bragging. I had 2 competitions this past weekend(my first and second), both regional and relatively small fields. I had 5 entries and I tied myself for first in one competition and took second place in both.
Overall I am really hard on my beers and hold myself to what is likely too high of a standard(my favorite craft beers). This was a nice attaboy for my overly critical standards.

Now the thanks, I have only been brewing since June and I could not be making the beer I am today without this board and the resources it has made available to me.

Another awesome bit of thanks goes to a brewclub member who presented me with a can of Heady Topper for winning the one comp. A beer that this hop head has been excited to try but haven't been able to get my hands on one.

So thanks, brew on and hopefully I can return the knowledge to people who are in need.

I havent got scores back yet, and I think the heady topper is meeting its maker tonight.

Sadly they are all other peoples recipes. Im starting to play with recipes but Id rather execute other peoples recipes that are good than execute my recipes well and then not have the recipe be appropriate.

I used these recipes but used Dennys Fav for Pliny and Zombie Dust(with a 1.25 oz FWH)...and Notty for Gumballhead.

Awesome. Gumballhead clone is on the schedule when the UPS man shows up for Hopsmas.

I'll hafta double check, but I think the recipe in Wheat has Warrior for bittering if you want to try something different and save the spendy hops for later additions.
