I generally try to make my way there once a month or so. I am fairly familiar with the place. You are right, food is pretty good. But, you go there for the beer.
It always irks me when I am there and someone orders a Miller Light. It does happen, you will see it.
The best part is that many of the beers that come in various size bottles they will carry. Example: Ommegangs usually come in both 750ml and 12oz and they have both sizes.
Their waitstaff is generally pretty knowledgeable and serves beers in the proper glassware (most of the time) and if you get yourself a nice bottle conditioned beer they will pour it the proper way for you.
The outside is very unassuming, you would walk by and never realize it was there, but the inside is pretty neat. Downstairs is usually 100degrees, so if you are ever there, I suggest sitting upstairs.
