That's one reason that the organized swaps are limited to premium members, because it helps that we have a verified name, address, credit card, etc. And it makes the "honor system" more reliable because one of the consequences of welching would be through the forum (banning, etc). Since it's easy to set up a free account, and there isn't any way to verify age on them, they are generally not a good bet unless you are very familiar with them.

I don't have a phone, so I can't see what you're looking at. But the link to the membership types is here: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/account.php

I think you can do it from inside the user control panel, also.

You are always welcome to support the site, but I don't want you to feel you have to just to get in on beerswaps. We are doing one now, but it's closed and I don't have an organized one coming up soon. Everyone has received their name (it's a Secret Santa swap) and we don't have an opening for another person at this time.

I don't want you to feel obligated to support the site if you don't want to anyway. There is NO pressure to become a supporter.

You can still start a thread on the "sampling" area and ask for informal beerswaps. You can do that on your own, but any big swaps have to have moderator input/approval.

Of course, you can always join as a supporter anytime, for any reason, and you are welcome.

Did you notify any of the mods about this?
If it were up to me i would have these people kicked and baned from the site or atleast "black listed" to show others not to do buisness with them...

Thats very unprofessional and should not be tolerated

I didn't notify anyone. One of the failed packages showed up in an empty Styrofoam box with a giant hole in it. The post man asked me if I wanted to accept it and Said no. Notified the guy and he said he'd see what he could do... Never heard back from him.

The other box just never made it hear and when I asked the guy if he had tracking info he said no and that he would look into it.... Never heard back.

I'm not about to go all crazy on them and try to get them banned. It was a bummer deal and I just won't do business with them again.

Lesson learned: Always get tracking info.
