Default Beer at the SETx State Fair

Last night before heading to the fair, I had a tasting of the two home brews I put together over the past few months (Cooper's Lager and AHS American Premium Lager) for my brother in law. Since we were in a hurry to leave, I drank half of each. When we got to the fair, the only options for beer were Coors Light in a plastic bottle and Miller Lite in the aluminum bottle.

I tried the Coors first, and it tasted faintly of corn chips. I thought I must have had a bad one, so after choking it down, I went to grab some BBQ and tried the Miller... same story, it tasted like corn chips (stale Fritos to be exact).

What would cause each of these beers to have a corn chip flavor?

Yep, Beaumont. Nope to the frito pie. I was thinking that my beer taste buds were maturing.

Miller uses corn as an adjunct. Very distinctive.
