Beer in Baltimore

Taking my daughter (14 y/o) down to the Inner Harbor for a long weekend, any good brew pubs or craft breweries in the general vicinity? Also open to suggestions as to sight-seeing/shopping. Thanks in advance!

Can't remember the name but there is a brew pub right along the inner harbor. I think it was in Harborplace center. Good IPA.. They won't let you have more than 2 because they pack a punch.

The Capitol City Brewery in the inner harbor closed a few years ago..

There is the Pratt Street Ale house which is the home of Oliver's brewery just north and west of the harbor place.

Then there is also the newly opened heavy seas ale house just east of the inner harbor. which is a pub linked to heavy seas / Clipper city brewery.

if you can make further to thr east in fells point there is Max's ale house over 100 beers on tap.

Then in canton there is Mahaffeys. A great place with a good steak night on Tuesdays.

Not sure your native area but I would put heavy seas at the top of your list. Loose cannon is a great iPa and they make some other nice beers too. What beer preferences do you have?

I went to college in Baltimore and spent many an evening at a bar called Brewer's Art. Very good beer, nice atmosphere, above average food. Its very close to Penn Station about 2 miles from the harbor. Fell's point, and Canton are both great places to walk around and see the sights.

Beer preferences are wide open, I like all flavors. The issue is that I have my daughter so I need some place semi kid-friendly within walking distance of the Harbor (and preferably serves "bar" type food). Thanks for the responses!

Yeah Fell's point is about 1/2 mi or so east of the Inner Harbor. Very pleasant stroll on a sunny day, and is safe etc. This area has come a long way in the past 10 years with making the area very nice. Fell's point has a million cool bars, like Max's, and has plenty to amuse your daughter. Have a nice visit.

There are some cool kid spots in Baltimore. The aquarium is great in my opinion albeit pricey. There is also a science museum for kids.

Go to "Of Love and Regret," Stillwater's new bar near Canton. You will not regret it.

Port City Brewing in Alexandria, VA has a fantastic Porter that you might see at some of the pubs; I'd recommend trying that.
