Any good ideas of what to add to a stout?
Looking for fun tasty things to add to my next stout...

Coffee, chocolate, lactose, oak chips, bourbon, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon or any combination thereof are what immediately come to mind. If you want to break the mold, get creative. While you're eating and drinking things, try and identify unique flavors you think might go well in a stout.

anything that would taste good in coffee...

from the dunkin donuts website:
black cocoa creme
caramel mocha
toasted almond

I had a RIS from Stone (I think) that was flavored with anise. Gave it a very nice licorice flavor. I usually hate that flavor, but it worked very well in that beer.

oysters or oyster sauce... both of these are successful..not fishy but has an interesting twang and mouth feel that is pleasant.

talking with the brewer at coast, they basically "first wort oyster" shells and all

I am about to do a Cherry Stout soon. I think it sounds good, but that is just me.
