Default Any accurate refractometers for brix and SG?

Is there any refractometer with accurate dual scales for brix and specific gravity? All the units I saw were way off, unless they have some funky compensation for wort vs. standard sucrose solution.

For that matter do you know of an accurate refractometer? I mean, have you actually calibrated your refractometer with distilled water and a known sucrose solution?

Whether beer is made in waders or in a toilet tank, as long as it is fun and the brewer likes how it tastes, who cares how it is brewed?

Yep, gotta calibrate.

It's not an issue of good equipment versus bad equipment, unfortunately. There are just some fundamental indeterminacies in converting between refraction and density. Even with calibration, you'll get some degree of variation between batches.
