Default Alternative Beer Packaging

Has anyone experimented with non-bottle beer containers? I'm wondering whether beer could be packaged for retail sale in TetraPaks or the 3- and 5-litre 'casks,' better known as BiB or Bag-in-Box. Might such packaging be used for
refillable growlers?

Mission Brewery in San Diego sells some bag in a box "growlers". The boxes are usefull since they can be used for tailgating in the parking lot adjacent to the brewery. I am not sure if they can be refilled though but its a cool idea none the less.
