Price: $60.00 Pros: Very easy to install and use. Cons: Probe should be submersible. Recommended? Yes
Comments: So far no problems. The temperature probe is submerged (even though it's not supposed to) in a jar with water and works better, IMO, than suspended in air. Great product. No complains so far.

Price: $59.95 Pros: Works great, easy to use. Forget About it. Cons: You will probably have to wire it. Recommended? Yes
Comments: I bought one from pex supply for about 60 bucks as far as I can remember. I prefer Ranco tools, the price was great and the wiring wasn't hard. I just had to spend lots of time doing research trying to figure out and make sure I knew what I was doing. I found a great instructive guide on a reptile website that they use for their pets. Other than that a 20 to 30 min job, plug it in, no sparks. Yay! It also inspired me to get a book on wiring and now I'm learning lots!

Price: $50.00 Pros: Easy to use. Works nicely Cons: Reliability an issue Recommended? No
Comments: Worked great to control my converted kegerator for about a year. The temp reading then suddenly jumped about 15 deg F. This caused the fridge to freeze up before I noticed. I contacted Invensys tech support, but I never got more than the automated response. I thought that maybe the probe got damaged and I could get a new one. However, I checked the resistance and the probe is right on. The issue must be on the board. Now I am must buy a new controller

Price: $50.00 Pros: Inexpensive, can do heating or cooling. Cons: None that I can think of. Recommended? Yes
Comments: Been using it for several months now on my keezer. Was easy to wire and does the job. The menu is fairly intuitive and it's easy to change the settings without having to get out the manual. Plan on buying another for fermentation control.

Price: $81.99 Pros: Design allows user to set temperature range; setup is a easy, especially with the pre-wired unit; programming procedure is straightforward Cons: Non-lighted digital display is sometimes hard to see. Recommended? Yes
Comments: I've been using the ETC for about a month, and it works as advertised. I chose the pre-wired version, so it was 'plug and play'. The constant temperature readout is reassuring. Ability to set a temperature window and option to use the unit for either heating or cooling (depending on setup) is also a big plus.
The digital display could be a little larger and lighted. But that's a minor criticism. Overall, I am well pleased.

Comments: I have the two stage one. It seems to work, so hey, I like it. It was cheaper than a Love, but it is bulky.

Ranco ETC-111000-000
Price: $50.00 Recommended? Yes
Comments: The Ranco is very easy to install and to use. It does not have as professional an appearance as the LOVE controllers and does not have the same flexibility, but it is easy to wire and good for general temperature control. I use one on my keezer to maintain serving temperature.

Ranco ETC-111000-000
Price: $100.00 Recommended? Yes
Comments: Takes a little bit to get the temperatures set up within range, but maybe I was just not doing it right. But once dialed in my temps only flucuated a couple of degrees for perfect fermentation temps

Ranco ETC-111000-000
Price: $75.00 Recommended? Yes
Comments: I use this controller on a fridge in my garage for both ales and lagers. In the winter I switch it over to the heat function to warm up the fridge when the ambient temperature is too cold for ales.
