Pros: The Tri-clamps make life so much easier.
Cons: It is very heavy and very, VERY expensive. There is no moving it once full
Recommended? Yes

Comments: My coni's are actually 14 gallon variety. They are extremely well put together and very solid. My guess is they are about 1/4-3/8 inch thick. They are pretty heavy which is a good thing for durability but bad for mobility. If you plan on moving these things full you better have help and they better be on wheels. The massive 1.5 inch bottom dump makes dumping trub easy. However, the lack of an elbow means your either spending another $155 on MoreBeer's yeast harvester or you have to go down to your local pipe shop and buy a S/S elbow with TC fittings and a ferrule. This is what I did and it was about $41. Now I can harvest yeast into beakers that are $9 a piece opposed to the aforementioned. The other part about this coni I don't like is you need to buy the CO2 adapter if you plan on no buying the leg extensions; that is, unless you know someone with S/S welding equipment that can make you the TC piece. This piece isn't actually that bad around $50 which one could easily spend on welding services (I don't actually know prices).
I don't have the Blichmann so I can't compare them side by side but if you are going to buy a conical, spend the extra $200 dollars and get them with the Tri-clamp fittings. You'll only cry once at having spent the money as opposed to crying everytime you have to clean out one without them.

Price: $1,745.00
Pros: Able to control temperature accurately; can cool 20-30 degrees cooler than ambient. Can heat.
Cons: Not enough ports, can't take pressure, and vigorous fermentation results in krausen leaking out. New version 2.0 should be better. Doesn't cool more than 20-30 from ambient.
Recommended? Yes

Comments:
Pretty much the gold standard for standalone conicals that have heating and cooling elements. Would be nice if it would take pressure and if it could cool a little better than it does. Would be nice to be unibody to allow it to be able to be a bright...

But not bad.

Comments: Got for FREE!
Needs some work because of the old style probe peltier devices. Got the gaskets and nut from Nova Products, just need to repowercoat the probes and it done.

Comments: The conical is very nice, but it doesn't fit in my chest freezer so I don't use it much
