Pros: I can make my own alcohol, I trust glass over plastic!
Cons: Hard to clean, Heavy to lift
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I like it! I got it at a garage sale (SCORE) and I plan on picking up a could more of these in the future. All the cons I consider to be "nessissary evils".

Pros: Passed down from Dad
Cons: Sucks to move around

Price: $28.00
Pros: Great Size for up 5.5-6 gal batches, Clear allows you to see fermentation.
Cons: Breakability but no accidents for me yet! Clear glass allows light in.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: 6 Gal allows greater headspace for 5 gal batches and if you want you can ferment up to 6 gal and bottle what will not fit in a corny keg. This allow me to bottle a few to compare the bottle version with the keg version and allows me to have some beer to share at the Beer Barons club meetings.

Clear fermenter allows me to see the fermentation but allows light in. Solution?, Put the glass carboys into a fermentation cabinet or converted upright freezer.

Pros: Glass, Come in clear and green. Lots of different sizes.
Cons: Maybe their shape, makes them hard to carry, without the baskets.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: My "generic" glass carboys are actually 25L (6.6 US gal) glass Demijohns. They are tear drop shape and I got them to use with the Fermentap system. Hopefully the shape of them will work better with the system then a regular carboy. (To be updated)
