Comments: An absolute must for secondary fermentation. Plastic can produce "off" flavors.

Comments: With kit. Standard glass carboy. Works great. Want more. 2 secondaries is simply no where near enough.

Comments: It's not a car; it's not a boy.
So why is it called a carboy?

(generic) 5 gallon glass carboy
Price: $25.00 Pros: long lasting and good for a lenghty secondary Cons: it is glass after all and could break from impacts. Recommended? Yes
Comments: i got one of these to use as a secondary with my home brew kit. I believe a secondary like this is necessary for the budget brewer to raise the bar on quality just that much higher. It is not big enough to use as a primary fermenter for 5 gallon batches in my opinion but could be used as one with the proper preparation.

Comments: Always good for a secondary, not big enough to ferment beer. I also like to use these for proven wine and mead.
