Default Yeast starter blow-out

Well I bumped my yeast starter up (3rd bump) last night. I used a different brand of DME and well...this morning, quite the mess. I had sanitized aluminium foil over the top and crap blew all down the sides. Anyway... I replaced the foil with new...but there is all kinds of clumps of material all over the top of the glass...big clumps. Is it yeast?...should I leave it or try to get a sanitary spoon and get rid of it. I'm afraid that if I just leave it....it will just get moldy. If I try to remove it...I think alot will fall back into the starter which is just as bad, no? I had planned on cold crashing the starter tonight cause I'm brewing tomorrow night.....

If I was brewing tomorrow, I would not crash it. Sounds like it just wants some more wort!
