Default Weizenbock surprise or demise?

I brewed a Weizenbock with a beginning gravity of 1.062 which fell into my realm of what i was aiming for. Only 1 week later the fermentation bubbles are every minute or more and the gravity is 1.016....bwah? Fastest fermenting beer ever? Can i bottle this? I was planning on letting it sit in secondary but since the fermentation and gravity are right i might just bottle. Any thoughts?

i am a beginner, but from what i have learned the secondary is more for clearing/conditioning than further fermenting.

Be safe my brother and take it to the secondary. In my limited experience thats what I would do I don't think it will hurt anything besides yer pt.

I hear ya on this, but the i could careless about clearning a weizen. I have almost always used a secondary on my beers, but i have never faced one with this little of action so i am thinking i should just bottle and let age in the bottles so i can use my primary for another batch. I want to brew another batch!

I understand yer pain I also only have one primary but I did put a HEFE in to keg recently w/o going to secondary and the whole thing got drank before proper ageing had taken place. To sum up I'm less likely to drink it if I can keep it out of storage for an extended period.

I'd put that sucker in the secondary. It won't hurt, and can really help your beer IMO. Sure it's a weizen, and you want the yeast in suspension, but letting the beer set for a while without the trub and sediment on the bottom is a good thing. Besides, your gravity may still drop a couple more points, and if you have bottled it already, you may end up with overcarbonated beer.

On the other hand, you are eager to brew another batch... That's the perfect reason to invest in another fermenter. Grab a $10 carboy, or a cheap plastic bucket, and you'll never have to worry about that problem again... Well, I shouldn't say "never..." I've got two carboys and a new "better bottle", and I've decided that I need another. You can never have enough fermenters!
