Default Temperature probe correction

I have a digital temperature controller for my chest freezer. I usually tape the temperature probe to the side of my better bottles during fermentation. I know that due to exothermic reactions, the temp inside the wort is higher than the ambient temp by around 5-8 degrees. How close do you think the temp probe taped to the side of the fermenter is to the actual temp of the beer? Maybe 2-3 degrees?
