Default Storing my primary with sanitizer

Simple question. Is there any harm in storing my primary with no rinse sanitizer in it?

I'm using a plastic primary and a powder no rinse sanitizer.

How long is safe to store it if anyone knows?

If you are using a powder no rinse sanitizer (like Onestep) there's really no point...it really has little or no shelf life as opposed to Starsan and Iodophor, which can be stored anywhere from 24 hours to a couple of months, depending on what type of water was used to store it.

Thanks. That's a good link. I had no idea about the one-step. Once I use it up I'm switching to starsan.

i still use onestep all the time, but as a cleaner rather than a sanitizer. i soak in onestep for an hour (or more if i think it needs it) and then rinse and give everything a quick spray down with star san. oxyclean works as a cleaner as well (it's also NOT a sanitizer) but i feel like onestep leaves less residue when soaked for extended periods.

to answer your original question, you can store star san in your primary (and many do). star san is good as long as the ph stays below 3.5 which can be quite a long time if you make it with distilled water.
