Default Splitting a yeast starter

I don't usually mess with my starters too much, usually it's just a half liter starter and it goes in the fermentor.

I have two beers lined up for tomorrow and friday, they use the same yeast but my LHBS only had one vial. I made a 500ml starter with 2 oz of DME yesterday, it's looking pretty robust so far.

I'm wondering if I can expect decent starts if I split this starter between the two batches, both will have an OG around 1.054-56.

If not I guess it's dry yeast, though all I have is coopers and stupid muntons

usually if your going to do that you would want to step up the starter....Im sure it will still work but your probably going to get a slow startup at the least. Wost case, stressed yeast will produce off flavors. According to mr malty you would be underpitching...and im assuming its not a stirplate
