Default Should you transfer sediment to secondary fermentation?

When transferring beer from the primary to secondary fermentation should you transfer the sediment?

I just did this transfer via siphoning but did not transfer the sediment - hopefully this was the right thing to do. Advice from experts to this brewing novice appreciated.

The main reason you're siphoning it from a primary vessel into a secondary vessel is to help it clear, so you're trying to get it off the sediment.

Leave as much of the sediment behind as possible, but don't worry if some gets into your secondary, it is NOT a big deal!

Yeah, you did it right. One of the main reasons you go to secondary is to get the beer of the sediment i.e. the trub.

Damn Orpheus beat me.

Call it a bright tank, like the pros, and it becomes clear.
