Hey yall, placed my raspberry ale in the primary on 11-6-06, I want to siphon it onto some raspberries in the secondary, but I will not have them from the orchards of MI until the 19th... is it fine to leave the beer in the primary for almost 2 weeks until I get the fruit, OR should I get it into the secondary and add the fruit on the 19th when I get it? I feel like Id be better off getting it into the secondary after one week, then add the fruit later. Let me know yall!
I can't see why you couldn't leave it in the primary for 2 weeks. As long as you keep it down at fermentation temperatures nothing bad will happen to the beer in 2 weeks. I wouldn't open it up too many times though, you aren't getting any new CO2 production so if you get O2 in there it might cause some oxidation.
