Default Question about DryHopping

I am dryhopping 2oz of whole leaf hops in Secondary right now, they have been in for a week now and have swelled up nicely, but they are just floating on top. Do I need to use something to push them down or will they eventually sink?
Also, do I need to occasionaly swirl/shake the secondary up a little to distribute the dry hop flavor?

my whole leaf hops have never sunk to the bottom while dry hopping. And no you do not need them too and you do not need to stir to distribute the hoppy goodness.

If you want them to sink you need to put them in a bag and weigh it down with marbles, shot glasses, etc. Don't have any way to measure which method is more effective, I just like to be able to pull the bag and drop a new one in when doing multiple dry hopping like Pliny clones.

I have been dry hopping for a week now, I just threw the hops in(no bag). I swished it a little bit, just to get the hops on top wet. I cant keep from smelling the airlock. It smells amazing!!! I cant wait to drink this one.

When I dry hop with whole hops I usually tilt the carboy in a couple directions once a day just to make sure they all get wet and distributed. 2oz is a lot, and you're definitely not getting any use out of any that aren't in contact with the beer.
