Peltier fermenter cooling?
|
|
I was pondering, and I remembered peltier disks
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2 F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=peltier+cooling&category 0=
low power consumption, draws heat from things extremely well! I wouldn't want to glue one to my carboy since it would freeze the beer right there, but if I glued some onto a bigger bucket with water in it and a water pump to circulate the water I think it would work! Just a little pond pump, the power consumption would be low and I could use a thermoswitch if it was too cold...
has anyone done this?

You might want to take a look at these cpu coolers about half way down the page. Heat sink & blower (not a fan) so you can direct the airflow easily. That's what I'm using.
