Default Look what I found in my classroom this morning

A biology teacher uses my classroom for the final period of the day. This is what I found on my desk this morning:

Found out later it was gatorade and baking yeast. Probably would taste salty. I wonder if they have an old stirplate in their labs...

I'd swap it out with wort and see if you get any comments.

In my HS chemistry class (1984) we actually fermented and distilled hooch as a lab experiment. We each fermented a small batch of liquor in our desk (about a liter using the sugar or your choice, I used honey) then distilled it, and it had to be strong enough to burn for passing grade. Of course nobody drank the end result

LOL, that is an awesome experiment. Reminds me of summer vacation where we used Graves as a campfire starter.

Burn when tasted, or burn as in 'ignite'?

that's pretty hard to make a flammable alcohol concentration without distillation.

"then distilled it, and it had to be strong enough to burn for passing grade"
that was part of it

We did distill it, in fact IIRC I distilled mine twice because it didn't burn the first time.
