Hey Everyone!

Got a barleywine I'm about to transfer to the secondary and I need to dry hop it. My question is.....if I plan to keep this beer in the secondary for an extended period of time (like a year or better) can I leave the dry hop addition in there for that long or should I do a tiertiary conditioning?

I've heard that dry hopping for extended periods will lead to a grassy flavor. Whether thats true or not I dont know. I dont dry hop for more than a week.

If you are that die hard to dry hop like that, I would do the tiertiary thing. I'm curious as to how this works out for you. Good luck

you'll want to wait til the last week or so before packaging to dry hop. dry hopping for such a long time would defeat the purpose since most of the aroma would be gone by then. no need for a tertiary, just toss them in.
