Default Lagger ?

I am new to this hobby and read all I can. A couple of ?

1. Lager is just a time at a cooler temp for the beer to balance and clear?
2. Can it bee done in a bottle.
3. I have a cali. common fermented at 64 with s-23 been 2weeks in primary 2 weeks in secondary. It says 2 month beer is that before bottle or total time(I know it will get better with some age)

thanks in advance

Lager yeast
Cooler ferment temps
Long stage of cold aging

Typical cold aging is 6 weeks... but it varies

That basically sums up the larger points.

64 seems a little hot for S-23 though?

The high end is 15C in the "recommended" range
The "ideal" is 12C

1. Not so much "balance" but more for the beer to clean up (removal of off flavors, etc).

2. It can, but you're better off bulk lagering for consistency across the whole batch.

3. The "general rule" for lagering (at least the one I try to follow) is lager 7 days for every 8 gravity points of OG after initial fermentation. For example, at 1.056 = 49 days of lagering.
