When doing a starter with a lager such as White Labs San Fransisco Lager, is room temp. OK or do some of you do it lower?
Room temp is fine. If possible, cool it and decant before you pitch it.
Thanks, Frink. I'll do both. The starter looks pretty typical, however I realize sometimes lager yeasts are a bit slower and need strong starter.
Yup. I'm doing my first lager Saturday, and I'm bumping it up to a gallon tonight.
