Default Lag time between mash and yeast

Doing my first all grain batch soon... It's a balmy -40 here in Edmonton so need a place to cook this inside (BIAB with turkey fryer). Can't do it at home so will brew at the shop (trades shop). I'll ferment at home of course.

My question is; is it ok for me to do all primary steps of brewing except adding yeast at the shop and then drive the beer in carboy/bucket home 20 minutes away then add yeast at room temp?

Could there be any side effects? thanks for the help!

Nope. I've done it several times, and the sloshing of travel can be beneficial. Just make sure the lid is tight and the airlock is on.

wow thanks for the super fast response. Great news, I had hoped as much and good recommendations - would love to explain a mess of beer like that in my vehicle to a cop.

Haha yeah it's not beer until the yeast is in it. "Officer, you don't understand, it's only wort!"
