Default Hose water

I'm sure many of you have filters, but to those who don't: when brewing outside do you use h2o from the hose, or is there some kinda food grade hose available that wont impart any plast-icky flavor on the water?

Most everyone says not to use hose water. Most everyone says to filter and boil your brewing water. A lot of people add gypsum and/or burton salts. Bad things will happen if you don't do this.
With that said, I use well water straight from the hose. It gets boiled when it becomes wort. I'm sure It would improve my beer if I did those things, but I'm not sure the world is ready for beer that good.

I'd imagine the hose flavor will diminish if you let the hose run for a few minutes. Besides, I still think one of the best tasting things in the world is a cold drink of water on a hot day out of a garden hose.

Maybe it can be your "secret" ingredient.

Marine grade hose as olllllo mentioned, or RV water hose. You can typically find either at home depot or walmart.

Having worked in the agriculture industry for awhile, I can say that I havedrank off of many a hose line(s) while working outdoors. If the water tastes OK to you, then RDWHAHB.
Run it cold for abit then you're good to go. It all (mostly) comes from the same source, mostly.

(they mostly come out a night, mostly) Sorry, I'm a bit messed up. Two bootss of New glarus and two pints of Optimator have left me a bit...

I have one of those self-coiling greenhouse hoses connected to the utility sink's tap. I definitely would not use one of my commercial grade landscaping hoses. No matter how long you let it run 100 feet of hose lets the water pick up "flavors".
