Default Hop Additions

If bittering is most efficient at 60 minutes and flavoring is most efficient under 15 minutes, are there any benefits to adding hops in the 40-20 minute period?

spreading out hop additions throughout the boil creates a more complex hop falvor profile IMO. The numbers for bittering utilization are one thing. The flavors that you feel on your tongue and in your nose are not so easily quantified with numbers.
