Default Guava or Cactus fruit beer

Has any body had any success using either Guava or Cactus fuit in their beer recipes? If so can you give me some pointers to go by?

Now I'm not at home to check it so I'm kinda fuzzy on the details,

But if I remember correctly Charlie mentions cactus fruit mead in Joy of Brewing.
