dry hopping
 

I'm working on a hop head read-ish clone right now. its getting two rounds of dry hops. question is can i just dry hop in primary once yeast has flocculated and final gravity is achieved, or should i take it off of the cake, to a secondary, to dry hop. thanks

note: i've always gone to secondary to dry hop, but I'm not too sure why... I'm wondering if it's pointless...

If you're adding the dryhops after primary fermentation, it doesn't really matter if you do it in the primary or in the secondary.

a few people on here have started to dryhop in primary...usually just like if they racked to secondary, usually after two weeks, for about 2 weeks.

I've had great success dry-hopping after a longer primary, 4 weeks or so, for about 5 days, dropping hop pellets straight into the primary.
