Default Dry Hopping....1/2 Ounce in 2.5 Gallons same as 1 Ounce in 5 Gallons?

I am going to do a bit of experimenting with some dry hopping, if I split a batch in half and use half as much hops will this be accurate? What if I split into 1.25 gallons and used 1/4 ounce of hops? If I find something I like will I get the same results by using 1 oz in 5 gallons?

As long as you use the same hops. That would be an appropriate way to scale it up and down.
