Personally, I would try to make a starter out of it. Make it about a week before your brew day, it may take awhile for it to wake up.
I have stored some washed yeast in my fridge for several months and have not had any issues with it waking back up and making a healthy starter.
Worst case scenario, its dead and doesnt make a starter. Then you can just use your idea of adding it to the boil for yeast nutrient
