Default Curing Oak barrel with bourbon

I'm thinking about buying a 5 gallon oak barrel but really want a bourbon barrel. Is it possible/effective to cure a new oak barrel with let's say a 1.75 l bottle of Knob Creek?

Bourbon gets most of its flavor when the alcohol extracts things from the charred oak. If your barrel is made of charred oak, your beer will taste bourbon-esque.
