I do 1.5 gal boils and place 4 1 gal jugs of filtered tap water in the freezer for several hours prior to brewing.

After I pour all the water in the primary (about 5 mins) my wort is down in the 70's.

i pretty much so the same thing as HB99, except I boil 3 gallons (for better hop extraction) and add 3 gallons of near freezing water to cool down to about 80 instantly.

I was going to do that last nite but i have no room in my freezer. I need to get another fridge or a deep freeze.
