Default Cold Secondary

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using cold secondary for an ale? I have heard/read that it gives you a cleaner brew. Spent two weeks in primary and FG says that fermentation is done. I'm simply clearing now. Oh it's a honey ale and an ESB. Thanks

One purpose of a secondary is for clearing. Placing a secondary in the cold just speeds up the process a bit.

I use gelatin. Works overnight in most cases...and at room temp.
