Default Clear beer success!!

The first photo is my nearly opaque Maris Otter/Centennial SMASH. Through inattention and poor planning (i.e., possibly hammered while brewing) I got a weak-arse hot break and forgot that I had run out of Irish moss. Result? Opaque, but tasty beer. This photo was after a month in the keg at serving temperature.

Second photo is a nearly identical recipe and process, only with Golden Promise instead of Maris Otter (so ... a totally different recipe) and I got a stellar hot break and used Whirlifloc. Photo is after ten days in the keg. (Bucky Badger is on the opposite side of the glass). This stuff is nearly crystal clear already.

Anyway, that's all. Cheers!

Who is this Rorschach guy? And why did he paint so many pictures of my parents fighting?

B E autiful, a good hot break and leave as much of it behind has rendered as much improvement as fermenting temps for me.

Very nice! I was stoked the first time I had a really clear beer. A little Whirlfloc and little patience does the trick every time.

The only thing more asinine than stupid rules is the enforcement of rules simply because they are the rules.
