Has anyone ever put or thought of putting Chivas Regal soaked oak chips into a big stout? I'm looking at adding 2 oz of oak chips soaked in Chivas Regal to my secondary and age it for 1-2 weeks and sample it along the way to make sure it doesnt get too " oaky ".. But i've never seen anyone use Chivas Regal.. Is it bad to use or?????

Thanks!

well.. this has been aging for about 2 months and just cracked open one of my smaller test bottles.. It's pretty good as the scotch stands out more than what a bourbon would. I havent had the bourbon test bottle yet but i'd only assume the bourbon would pair better with the chocolate/ vanilla in this stout. I like the scotch to the point where i will enjoy drinking it!
