Hey guys, I know this has been mentioned before but I did not find an answer to this specific question.
I bought some medium toast American oak CUBES, and plan on soaking them in whiskey for a week or more for secondary. My question is for an Imperial Stout, 5 Gallons, around 9-10% ABV, will 2 ounces of this type oak cubes be enough to add a nice rounded flavor?
I have seen people mention using anywhere from an ounce to 4 ounces so I am confused as the best route to go. I am assuming 2 should be enough and just checking it about once a week to see how its going, but should I use more oak since there is more alcohol or is this a situation where more isnt always better?
Thanks in advance.
