I always have about 5 gal of starsan solution mixed up. I keep it in gallon milk jugs. If I start using it for my chiller I would likely mix up 5 gal and only use it for the chiller and keep another 5 gal batch mixed up for all of my other equipment..

I put mine in a homer bucket of star San. It removed the oxides and sanitizes. Plus I don't like that it stops the boil if I add it then.

I stick it in at 30 minutes and recirculate through my whirlpool until it's boiling again, shut the pump off, add whirlfloc, nutrient, and then flavor additions.

I make it up about once every 3-4 months and keep it in a 5 gallon Lowes bucket. I fill my spray bottles with it and during brewing or racking, I just toss all the equipment and tubing into the bucket. No need to spray it or worry about missing a spot.
