Default anyone roast grain and use it the same day?

i was going to brew today and thought about roasting bout 1lb of 2-row for 30min at 350. i know some people let it rest for a few days or weeks and some people roast and brew the next day.....just wanted to get someone's input that have roasted and used the same day.....what the outcome was.

I roasted some unmalted wheat to add to a brew. I must have roasted it too long, because the final flavor of the beer was almost metallic with the strong "tannin" taste.

Be very gentle as to the time and the temperature of what you roast.
