Default Any tips for inserting barb nuts into 3/16" tubing??

I can't get these friggin things into the tubing. Ordered the barb nuts from Northern brewer and it said they should fit either 3/16 or 1/4" tubing, but the damn things won't go in!

Keg lube.

Do not use any petroleum based lubes.

In a pinch, vegetable oil. I'm not sure if heating the tubing in hot water will help.
This is all conjecture on my part at this point. YMMV.

Boil some water and place the end in it for a minute and it'll slide right on.

If your tap water is really hot that'll work also.
