In the past I have ran O2 injection tests with a flow meter at .5CFH for 3 minutes into 6 gallons to get nominal attenuation. Lacking a dissolved O2 meter I varied the duration time and noted the attenuation levels and fermentation speed for various times from 1 to 5 minutes. It appears that higher flow rates generate bubbles that quickly rise to the top without absorbing, and that low flow rates where bubbles are barely visible are more effective.
