North Penn Water Authority (Montgomery Co., PA) Water Report
|
|
After sending a simple email to the water authority, I got a fairly quick response with all of the pertinent water info for brewing!
Code:
Ca: 31.5 mg/L
Mg: 9.17 mg/L
Na: 19.8 mg/L
SO4: 19.9 mg/L
Cl: 33.6 mg/L
HCO3: 98.2 mg/L
pH: 7.83
These numbers are specific to Skippack, PA; but if anyone else is in their service area, send an email to info@northpennwater.org and you should get a response in a day or two
Profile looks good for malty dark beers from what I've gathered on the forums, sound right?

Great water. Definitely good for anything brown to black in color. You'll need to acidify for pale beers (almost everyone does) and you may want more sulfate for some beers.

Make sure you send your street address to that email address. I guess they take readings at different spots in their area.

You might want to put this under a separate thread. Ridley Park folks probably wouldn't look in a North Penn Water thread.
