Default Head pressure and yeast flocculation?

I feel like I've read somewhere that a small amount of head pressure can speed up flocculation, but I can't find any sources to confirm it. What say you guys?

You might pop over and read up on the Pressurized Fermentation thread. I believe many people experience a faster maturation and clearing in that system.

Otherwise, I would speculate you are dealing with more variables (particularly with yeast strain) than just pressure, including pH, temperature, toxicity from alcohol, etc. all which would influence yeast behavior.

I guess I do what you suggest when I keg, pressurize and cold crash. Sometimes I get very clear beer - other times, not so much. Seems to vary more on yeast strain than process for me.

You know, since you are going pro - I bet you could get some direct feedback on pressure and floccuation from White Labs. You will likely need to setup an account there soon anyways. They have been helpful to the brewhouse here in Bastrop.

I scanned back through the "Yeast" book last night and couldn't find any corollary discussion on pressure.
