I am sorry about your friend, GI issues are one of the worst to diagnose and manage, I've been there.

This sounds like a great House episode...there is no way it could be lupus, or is there?

A common theme with all these posts is antibiotic use. They sure were beneficial in the early 1900's, but their over use and off label use is killing us now.

Is this a warning to not drink alcohol with the brewer/baker's yeast in it? Because I can't possibly filter my yeast out of my alcoholic drinks.

Well it does go right into the blood, but that blood's first stop is the liver.

I think it takes extraordinary conditions for yeast to survive past the stomach.

That being said, with folks huffing alcohol these days, I wouldn't be surprised if some folks are "ingesting" alcohol from the other end (like the South Park episode with "reverse eating"). I wouldn't be surprised for someone to go the next step and mix up some yeast and sugar water and "reverse eat" it. I'd make for a mighty case of gas. the yeast would make alcohol - if you could hold it in.

Along those same lines...and to take this thread far downhill...butt-shots. I just learned of this, and it is horrific.
