Default Wyeast lacto starter

Wyeast packet in apple juice going on a week. Pitch the whole thing or decant and pitch the bottom portion like I would with yeast?

Does it taste like anything you wouldn't mind having in your beer? Personally I have pitched an entire lacto starter in a Berliner Weisse because it tasted good and sour. I figured the more bugs the merrier. But my starter was from second runnings from a previous mash and not apple juice.
