I'm working on a lambic recipe and I have 1 vial of wlp 655 belgian sour mix on order. I'm planning on brewing 10 gallons and I was wondering if I made a starter would it throw off the balance of the blend?

Yes, I would recoment pitching straight.
I made a starter for my last lambic and added oak chips to provide a growth lattice. It noticeably shortened the time required to develop the lactic/brett character (~2 months).
