Default Brett behavior timeline?

I pitched a vial of Brett L into an unfinished Saison I brewed. I am going to try again to get WLP565 to attenuate all the way down, but that is another day. I purposely mashed a bit high (~156) on the Saison, mostly so the Brett would have something to chew on if the saison yeast finished out.

Anyway, the gravity was around 1.028 when I pitched Brett. I was curious about the timeline between pitching and either seeing some airlock activity or if gravity starts to fall. I haven't taken a sample since I pitched the Brett. It's been about 2 weeks and if anything, the Better Bottle has been sucking IN air through the airlock. It's been sitting in temp control at 67. I'll take a gravity sample tomorrow, but how long should I give it before I re-pitch Brett? I am not exactly worried, but I will be near a HBS this weekend and was curious if I should buy another vial for this beer.

This is my first Brett beer and was just told it's slow, which I am good with.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't be worried for another 3 months or so. The tubes of Brett have very few cells, and can take a long time to get going if you pitch them after fermentation starts and without a starter. No need to be alarmed, just try to ignore the fermenter until 2011.

Fortunately, I think patience is one of the few skills I have. I was just wondering since my brett starting gravity was high, maybe the brett would behave like sacc at first. Thanks oldsock, your advice on here and your blog have been great.
