Default Barrel deal...at least I think so...

I'd buy one and try to fill it if I had the space. I however don't have space for a 60gal barrel. I figure $90 for a barrel that is already neutral is a good price plus its what we're after with no oak character. If you wanted oak you can throw a spiral or cubes in the barrel.

Hmm...I don't get how it wont add oak flavor to its contents though?

The oak has been used up or extracted. The only way you'll get more oak flavor is by disassembling the barrel and scraping down about .25" to expose fresh wood that has not really been touched by the wine/beer/liquor.

I'm sure there are more local wineries on the East coast for used wine barrels. The truck freight is the killer.
