hope this isnt the all grain neighborhood, i did this extract style since that's what i'm capable of now
6 lbs Amber malt extract (the pale was real old at the store)
1 lb crystal malt 80L
about 8oz weyermann smoked malt
about 7 oz chocolate malt
splash of blackstrap and pinch of brown sugar
1 oz of fuggle hops 5%AA (would've liked more but didnt have enough $)
1 pack Safale s-04 rehydrated yeast
I don't usually take dydrometer readings. I just let it sit for 9 days and bottle or transfer it.
this is the darkest beer i've made and i'm not sure what it is. Really wanted to make a scottish ale but could only get these ingredients together. could be a porter, who knows, it'll drink.
